Booth 4
Internet of Things in the GC
Did you know that the Internet of Things (IoT) can help inform the way we manage laboratory equipment? At this booth, in partnership with Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), we will showcase how IoT devices can help the Government of Canada (GC) make better procurement decisions and enhance equipment portfolio management.
The IoT refers to physical devices (“smart” or “connected” devices) that connect to each other via the Internet. They collect and exchange information with one another and with users. Smart devices can be controlled and monitored remotely, or work automatically through a variety of software, cameras and sensors. Visit Booth 3 - 3D printing and modelling to see how 3D printing has enabled and enhanced IoT projects at SSC.
This booth will also demonstrate some examples of how augmented reality (AR) can be used with IoT devices. AR is an interactive experience that combines the real world and computer-generated 3D content. It can be used with IoT sensors and equipment to provide a more interactive experience with the devices. This can lead to a better understanding of the data these devices are collecting.
Engage with our experts to learn how we invest in emerging technologies, harness the potential of IoT and overcome challenges faced by the GC.
