Communications Awards of Excellence

The Government of Canada’s Communications Awards of Excellence recognize communications excellence in the federal public service and celebrate the achievements of the communications community. They highlight high-impact initiatives, exceptional contributions, as well as best practices in communications. 7 Excellence in Communications Awards (Team Awards) and 3 Spotlight Awards (Individual Awards) are presented.
Nominations and award categories
Nomination period: November 4 to 29, 2024
Nomination process: The call for nominations is open each November and nominations are submitted through an online form that is used by the selection committee to evaluate the submissions.
Who can nominate: Any employee working in a communications branch. All nominations must be endorsed by your Head of communications.
Team awards:
- Diamond Award of Communications Excellence
- Platinum Award of Communications Excellence
- Golden Alliance Award of Communications Excellence
- Lighthouse Award of Communications Excellence
- Insider Award of Communications Excellence
- Regional Powerhouse Award of Communications Excellence
- Mosaic Award of Communications Excellence
Individual awards:
Selection process and committee
Once the nomination period is closed, the Communications Community Office and its Steering Committee will review and rate the nominations against the evaluation criteria. Steering Committee members will exclude themselves from voting on their own submissions.
Award ceremony
Who can attend: Award winners and their senior leadership will be notified and invited to attend a ceremony.
Date: The ceremony is held in the spring, usually in March.
