Rates of pay will be adjusted within 180 days of signature of the Applied Science and Patent Examination (SP) collective agreement. Changes to rates of pay with an effective date prior to the salary adjustment date will be paid according to Appendix L, as a lump-sum payment. In particular:

Pay notes
- The pay increment period for all employees is twelve (12) months.
- An employee at the SG-PAT-08 level shall be paid:
- effective October 1, 2022, to a rate of pay within the “A” scale which is 3.5% higher than their former rate of pay.
- effective October 1, 2022, to a rate of pay within the “X” scale which is 1.25% higher than their former rate of pay.
- effective October 1, 2023, to a rate of pay within the “B” scale which is 3.0% higher than their former rate of pay.
- effective October 1, 2023, to a rate of pay within the “Y” scale which is 0.5% higher than their former rate of pay.
- effective October 1, 2024, to a rate of pay within the “C” scale which is 2.0% higher than their former rate of pay.
- effective October 1, 2024, to a rate of pay within the “Z” scale which is 0.25% higher than their former rate of pay.
- effective October 1, 2025, to a rate of pay within the “D” scale which is 2.0% higher than their former rate of pay.

Pay notes
- Pay increment period full-time employees: The pay increment period for all employees is twelve (12) months.
- An employee shall, on the relevant effective date of adjustment to the rates of pay, be paid in the X, A, Y, B, C or D scale of rates at the rate shown immediately below their former rate:
- on , to a rate of pay within the “X” scale which is 0.8% higher than their former rate of pay.
- on , to a rate of pay within the “A” scale which is 2.0% higher than their former rate of pay.
- on , to a rate of pay within the “Y” scale which is 0.2% higher than their former rate of pay.
- on , to a rate of pay within the “B” scale which is 2.0% higher than their former rate of pay.

Pay Notes
- An employee shall, on the relevant effective date of adjustment to the rates of pay, be paid in the A, B, X and C scale of rates at the rate shown immediately below his former rate.
- Terminal Allowance: The terminable allowance remains at $15,936. This allowance is subject to the same conditions as in effect for the collectively bargained employees of the Patent Sub-Group of the Scientific and Regulation Group.
- Pay Increment Administration:
- Pay increment period full-time employees: The pay increment period for all employees is twelve (12) months.
- Pay increment date: The pay increment date for an employee appointed on or after , to a position in the group upon promotion, demotion or from outside the Public Service, shall be the anniversary date of such appointment. The anniversary date for an employee who was appointed to a position in the group prior to remains unchanged.
