Possible result

Based on your performance, you can obtain:

  • level A, B or C, or
  • X (your performance does not meet the minimum requirements for level A).

To understand what constitutes a level A, B or C, please read the Treasury Board Secretariat's Qualification Standards in Relation to Official Languages (external link).

Your final result is a global evaluation of your performance on language tasks in a variety of work-related contexts, with the appropriate level of accuracy. The level you obtain is based on your sustained performance throughout the test.

You will also receive a performance grid with your result for developmental purposes.

The most recent score will replace any previous valid score at the CRA. Results will be entered into your CRA Candidate Profile within two weeks following the assessment.

Additional information

You must arrange to be alone in a quiet environment where you will not be disturbed for the duration of the test.

The use of any external or technological resources or tools, including artificial intelligence, recording, transcription, translation, or any other form of support is considered cheating, and will result in an invalid assessment. Any person allegedly involved in cheating, fraud, or improperly disclosing protected test material will be referred to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

The camera is turned on during the assessment. You and the assessor will use the video function in MS Teams throughout the test, from the moment of confirming your identity until the end of the test.

To prepare for this test, review resources for improving grammar, sentence structure, and other communication skills. You may also use a digital platform such as Mauril (external link), a free mobile application to learn French and English.

No additional performance feedback is available following your assessment, other than the performance scoring grid you will receive with your result.

Persons requiring accommodation must be assessed by the PSC's SLE-OLA. For more information, visit the Assessment Accommodation (external link) PSC's page.
