The Government of Canada is modernizing the way we deliver human resources (HR) and pay services. We will create a new single, central data hub for all employee data which will leverage artificial intelligence (AI), strong data governance and advanced analytics reporting. Learn how all these pieces come together to create a system that values accuracy, transparency and a personalized experience.

One that is driven by what users want, when and where they need it.

Accurate, consistent and secure data will streamline processes—saving time and money.

To make this happen, we need to do three things:

    Create a consolidated data hub for all employee records.

    Optimize the power of Artificial Intelligence.

    And, use advanced analytics to help us better understand and manage our services.

With one central hub, it will be easier to securely exchange important data between departments and authorities. A single employee record allows for quick and easy transactions that are centrally managed, so employees have full access to their information.

For example, employees log into one site to update their address, check their leave balance or submit vacation. And it can even be done from a mobile device.

Integrating AI and automation seamlessly into our operations can help us solve inconsistencies and find potential data problems before they cause issues.

Also, a chat-type interface will make it easier for employees to ask questions and have direct access to their data.

For example: an employee wants to find out if they qualify for maternity leave. They type their question in the chat and within seconds AI provides them with their employment history and helps answer complex questions.

Analytics is the key to our success. It gives us strategic insights so we can make data-driven decisions for our employees. And, thanks to analytics we can create uniform reporting across all departments and agencies.

For example: in times of crisis, we can find out where our employees are located around the world and move quickly to support them.
