There is no treatment for hepatitis A. Most people with hepatitis A will feel sick for a few months before they begin to feel better.

Some people will need to be hospitalized.
If you have hepatitis A, you should check with your health care provider before taking any:
- supplements
- prescription pills
- over-the-counter medications
These can potentially damage your liver. Alcohol should also be avoided.
After you recover, you will likely be protected against getting hepatitis A for life.
