Physical security - Competencies
Key activities
- Conduct security evaluations such as threat and risk identification and assessments, security design briefs, standing verifications, vulnerability assessments, security inspections, and investigations.
- Report on physical security events, violations, and incidents.
- Perform security compliance monitoring and enforcement activities.
- Acquire, maintain, and issue departmental identification cards and access badges.
- Support organizations in the development, monitoring and/or assessing of security risk programs.
- Plan and coordinate security related projects such as the design and/or implementation of appropriate safeguard measures and/or programs (e.g., intrusion detection, departure processes, building guard force, etc.) in accordance with security policies and guidelines.
- Provide initial response to emergencies and/or coordinate provision of protective services as required.
- Support the development, implementation, interpretation, and/or application of government and departmental security policies, standards, and guidelines, and the Departmental Security Plan.
- Work with Lead Security Agencies and other government departments to exchange on best practices and lessons learned.
