Northern Science Award
The Northern Science Award is presented annually to an individual or a team who have made a significant contribution to advancing knowledge and understanding of the Canadian North. In the spirit of the last International Polar Year (2007-2008), the award recognizes transformations in the way knowledge is produced and shared, and the impact research has on the North, its communities and people.
Polar Knowledge Canada Scholarship
The Polar Knowledge Canada Scholarship is a prize of $10,000 awarded to outstanding doctoral students in polar studies.
POLAR Northern Resident Award
POLAR offers awards of $5,000 to outstanding northern Canadian students enrolled in a post-secondary undergraduate program at a Canadian college or university.
POLAR Northern Resident Scholarship
POLAR offers scholarships of $10,000 to outstanding northern Canadian students enrolled in a post-secondary graduate program (PhD or Master’s) at a Canadian university.
POLAR Antarctic Scholarship
POLAR offers scholarships, valued at $ 10,000, to outstanding Canadian students enrolled in a post-secondary graduate program (PhD or Master's) engaged in Antarctic research.
Northern Scientific Training Program Special Awards
The George Hobson Memorial Award, Malcolm Ramsay Memorial Award, Robert McGhee Award, and Éric Dewailly Memorial Award are each valued at $2,500. Candidates are Northern Scientific Training Program applicants nominated for the awards by their universities.
