Community Economic Development and Diversification in B.C. - After you apply
Open
We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis.
4. After you apply
We aim to give a funding decision within 90 business days 90% of the time after the closing date for a call for Expressions of Interest or after receiving a complete proposal.
After submitting your Expression of Interest (EOI), you can check its status in our application portal.
Only the strongest projects meeting Community Economic Development and Diversification program objectives will be invited to complete full applications. Submitting an EOI and full application does not guarantee funding.
We assess EOIs and full applications based on their strengths, including in the following areas:
- Level of community or regional support or partnerships (financial and non-financial)
- Clear and lasting economic benefits for British Columbians (preference may be given to projects that benefit multiple communities)
- Increasing access to economic opportunities and labour market participation, including for Indigenous, rural, remote or official language minority communities
- Clear market demand or collaboration to determine market demand and expansion opportunities
- Strong governance, financial management and performance
- At least 50% of funding leveraged from the private sector, provincial or municipal governments, or other non-government sources
- Projects that demonstrate stronger leverage may receive priority consideration
- Proof of confirmation of non-PacifiCan funding
In addition to project strength, PacifiCan also considers alignment with government priorities, funding availability and overall investment portfolio goals when making decisions.
