New employee

Welcome and congratulations! We are thrilled to have you join Team IAAC!

As you settle in, we encourage you to consult this page to ease your onboarding experience. Onboarding is the process of integrating new employees into the workplace, beginning with the acceptance of the initial job offer and continuing through the first 6 to 12 months of employment. It includes activities such as training and mentoring, as well as providing all pertinent information on internal policies, work processes and established cultural norms.

Letter of offer

Your letter of offer stipulates the conditions of your employment as well as relevant information in preparation for your first day. Be sure to read it and direct any questions or concerns to your future manager.

Before your first day

To help us prepare for your arrival, please complete and submit these before your first day. Your letter of offer provides instructions on what to fill out and whom to send it to.

For current Public Servants:

Print record of your leave balances and have your current supervisor sign it before your departure. (Please note that coordination of your subsequent leaves will have to continue until your transfer to the Agency is completed.)

Save your myKEY and send it to your email address for easier transfer processing.

Familiarize yourself with the relevant terms and conditions of employment that apply to you:

Our pre-arrival onboarding content contains general guidance that applies to most employees working arrangements.

On your first day

A great way to kick-start your new job is to go through our Onboarding Module 1 (PDF - 2.2 MB). You will learn important information about the Agency.

Another way is to start by completing or planning mandatory training for all government employees. Training can seem daunting, but if you start now and schedule it ahead of time, it will be more manageable.
