If you are not applying with a family member who is applying for a work permit
You must apply online. You need an account to apply online.
You can use your account to
- pay your fees
- submit your application
- check the status of your application
When you apply, make sure you
- select “I am an applicant who meets another exception listed on the IRCC website” when asked “which exception do you qualify for?”
- include all the documents you need
- submit your language test results
- If you’re applying through the IRCC Portal, upload your language test results in the Additional Documents field under the Optional Document section.
- If you’re applying through the IRCC secure account, upload your language test results in the Client Information field under Optional Document section.
- follow your visa office instructions, in case you need to provide other documents:
If you are applying with a family member who is applying for a work permit
You must apply through the IRCC secure account when applying with a family member who is applying for a work permit, even if they apply at a different time.
You must apply online. You need an account to apply online.
You can use your account to
- pay your fees
- submit your application
- check the status of your application
When you apply, make sure you
- select “I am an applicant who meets another exception listed on the IRCC website” when asked “which exception do you qualify for?”
- include all the documents you need
- submit your language test results through the IRCC secure account by uploading your language test results in the Client Information field under Optional Document section
- follow your visa office instructions, in case you need to provide other documents:
