Get a permanent resident card
A permanent resident (PR) card shows that you’re a permanent resident of Canada. You need it to return to Canada after travelling.
You don’t need to apply for your first PR card. If you give us your photo and address within 180 days of becoming a permanent resident, we’ll issue the card automatically.
