Background

At the outset of the third phase of the CMP, 4 alkyl halides (CAS RNs 74-96-4, 75-00-3, 706-94-5, 156-60-5) were a part of a group of 8 substances referred to collectively under the CMP as the Alkyl or Aryl Halides Group. The 4 aryl halides (CAS RNs 77-47-4, 74-88-4, 126-99-8 and 630-20-6) were subsequently determined to be of low concern to both human health and the environment through other approaches. The conclusion for CAS RN 77-47-4 is provided in the Final Screening Assessment for Substances Identified as Being of Low Concern using the Ecological Risk Classification of Organic Substances and the Threshold of Toxicological Concern (TTC)-based Approach for Certain Substances. The conclusions for CAS RNs 74-88-4, 126-99-8 and 630-20-6 are provided in the Final Screening Assessment for the Rapid Screening of Substances with Limited General Population Exposure.
