Further to the leadership message from last year, certain former Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members have been granted an additional mobility entitlement period until April 1, 2029. This will allow them to access and apply for internal advertised job processes as though they were employed in the federal public service.
The GC Jobs system will be updated to reflect the new end date of the mobility entitlement period. No action is required on behalf of the impacted former CAF members.
Video - Accessing job opportunities: A guide for Canadian Armed Forces members and Veterans (now leaving Canada.ca) provides key information on how to access public service job opportunities, including:
- an overview of preference, mobility, and priority entitlements; and
- step-by-step instructions on how to register for, and access, public service job openings.
Former CAF members may also consult Veterans Affairs Canada’s Career Transition Services for additional resources.
