- Project costs and actual expenditures include Employee Benefit Plans (EBP) and exclude taxes.
- Projects listed have been identified as either:
- those in which the estimated expenditure exceeds the delegated approval authority granted to the Department of National Defence (DND) by the Treasury Board (TB) ($30 million with substantive cost estimates), or;
- those in which the risk is particularly high, regardless of the estimated amounts.
- Main estimates column: For Accrual Based Projects, the numbers are based on the reprofile submission and/or standalone submissions that were approved on or before Annual Reference Level Updates (ARLU) 2014-15 cut-off date.
- Total authorities: Same as Planned Spending.
- Original Estimated Total Cost is defined as the costs comprised of four components of Vote 5 funding:
- Procurement costs of the acquisition (equipment platform/system/fleet and associated infrastructure);
- Integrated Logistics Support (nominally two year spares Initial Provisioning, training development, technical data packages, simulators, etc - will vary from project to project);
- Project Management Office costs to include project staff SWE/military pay, Travel, Training, Office Space, contracted support, etc; and

Original estimated total cost: The total cost estimate for the project in the original Treasury Board decision.
Revised estimated total cost: The most recent Treasury Board decision for the total cost estimate for the project.
Actual total cost: All expenditures to date, including the reporting year.
Main Estimates: The amount of funding sought through the Main Estimates process.
Planned spending: The amount should include any updates to funding provided through the Main Estimates (i.e., Supplementary Estimates).
Total authorities: The project authorities for the reporting year, as approved by the Treasury Board.
Actual spending: Total amount spent during the reporting year.
Expected date of close-out: The year that the project is expected to be completed.
Notes:
- Project LF Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) Omnibus (276) includes the totals from subprojects 1013, 1014, 1015, 1277 and 1278.
- For the Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Aircraft Replacement (FWSAR), the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC), and the Point Defence Missile System Upgrade (PDMSU) projects, expenditure authority was approved, without Project Approval (PA) being granted. Revised estimated total costs report the full Project Approval, although they have yet to be approved.
- Expenditures: this project pre-dated DRMIS (2010-11) so expenditures from pre-DRMIS are based on various project reports (not DRMIS or FMAS). TB granted PPA for this Omnibus project and delegated Expenditure Authority to Minister of National Defence (MND). All Sub-projects have now been granted EPA by MND.
- Expenditures: this project pre-dated DRMIS (2010-11), so expenditures from pre-DRMIS, are based on various project reports (not DRMIS). -- This project only moved onto DRMIS under WBS C.00487 on 1 April 2014).
- The project construction completion is expected by end FY 2017-18 and close out will be two years later.
