National Defence COVID-19 Emergency Charity Campaign Update
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on Canadians, the Defence Team launched the National Defence COVID-19 Emergency Campaign at the beginning of May and it ran until June 20, 2020.
Members of the Defence Team support Canadians at home and abroad every single day. During this pandemic, members of the Canadian Armed Forces saw firsthand the needs of Canadians as part of Operation LASER.
Over $81,000 raised
True to form, the Defence Team answered the call and $81,913.50 was donated in support of HealthPartners’ “Help our Helpers” and United Way Centraide’s “Local Love in a Global Crisis” funds. These funds will help provide support to those most impacted by COVID-19, including support for Canadians with cancer, diabetes and other chronic diseases, as well as seniors, newcomers, and anyone facing income loss and food insecurity.
Thank you to everyone in the Defence Team community who has donated to this emergency campaign!
Together we made a difference in the lives of Canadians impacted by COVID-19.
