Public Affairs Officer, Canadian Forces Snowbirds
Captain Philip Rochon was born in Ottawa, Ontario. As the son of a military member, he new at a young age he wanted to join the Canadian Armed Forces. After attending his first air show, he joined 742 Air Cadet Squadron before enrolling in the Canadian Army Primary Reserves in 1996 as a Medical Assistant.
In 1998, he transferred to the Regular Forces as Medical Technician before, in 2004, specialising as a Preventive Medicine Technician (a military health inspector). In 2019, he was nominated for the Commissioning from the ranks program and graduated from the Basic Public Affairs Course in 2020.
Captain Rochon has served with the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force during different postings from coast to coast. He has deployed domestically during the 1998 Ice Storms, and internationally to Bosnia-Herzegovina and twice to Afghanistan.
Captain Rochon now calls Shannon, Quebec home. He is overjoyed continuing working with the talented team of Snowbirds as the 2024 team Public Affairs Officer and realise one of his career dreams.
