Disability inclusion
The Government released Canada's first-ever Disability Inclusion Action Plan in October 2022. This plan is a comprehensive, whole-of-government approach to disability inclusion. It makes sure all of our programs consider disability and identifies targeted investments in key areas to drive change. It builds on existing programs and measures that seek to improve the inclusion of persons with disabilities and establishes new and meaningful actions.

Mental health
To better meet the mental health needs of people in Canada, we're supporting and investing in services and supports across the country.
We provide funding for provincial and territorial mental health and substance use services. We made a big investment in this area over 10 years beginning in 2017.
We are also providing a healthcare funding package for provinces and territories which will help improve access to mental health and substance use services.
We're also investing in COVID-19 supports to provide help throughout the pandemic and into recovery, such as:
- mental health and virtual supports so people can access services from home
We're also making extra efforts and investments to:
- reduce the stigma and discrimination attached to:
- mental illness
- substance use
- poor mental health
- strengthen protective factors that lead to positive mental health
- reduce and address the risk factors that can lead to mental illness and suicide.
We're investing in the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health with our partners:
- Crisis Services Canada
- the Canadian Mental Health Association
This will support their suicide prevention services across the country.
