Gender-based Analysis Plus Implementation Survey
The GBA Plus Implementation Survey is an annual survey of federal departments and agencies that collects information on their implementation of GBA Plus in their organization’s policies, programs, and other initiatives. The survey includes questions on GBA Plus training, capacity, application, monitoring, and barriers to GBA Plus implementation. The survey is a commitment under the Management Response and Action Plan that the government released in November 2022 in response to the Auditor General’s May 2022 report on GBA Plus.
Why the results matter
Since GBA Plus supports the development of responsive and inclusive policies, programs, and initiatives, the competency of public servants to implement robust and intersectional GBA Plus is crucial to advance Canada’s broader equality goals.
Recognizing the importance of ongoing monitoring of GBA Plus implementation, reports on GBA Plus by the Auditor General and the Senate Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology called on the government to improve monitoring and to publicly report on the status of GBA Plus implementation across the federal government.
