Investigation report: July 2019 fatal mid-air collision in Black Diamond, Alberta

Edmonton, Alberta, 10 February 2020 — Today, the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) released its investigation report (A19W0099) on the 26 July 2019 fatal mid-air collision between a Cessna 182 and a Schleicher ASK 21 dual-seat glider in Black Diamond, Alberta.

The TSB conducted a limited-scope, fact-gathering investigation into this occurrence to advance transportation safety through greater awareness of potential safety issues.
