Career development at SSC

At SSC, we take pride in our career development program and offer an array of great programs and initiatives to help you on your career journey, such as:
- the Architect Professional Certification Program
This program is designed to give current and future architects the tools and experience they need to meet the demands of this specialized occupation. - the Digital Enterprise Skilling Program
This program provides SSC employees with the knowledge and skills required to improve the delivery of IT services and adapt to the workforce needs of the future.
SSC also offers employees paid continuous learning opportunities in their own fields to hone their skills and knowledge and assist them in their career development. Learners can take courses free of charge and do not have to be in a technical job to register.

Training for specialists
SSC works with the Canada School of Public Service, which offers courses for a variety of careers:
- communications specialists
- service specialists
- information management specialists
- information technology specialists
- internal auditors

Language training
Employees have access to language training to meet the linguistic requirements of bilingual positions, to meet the future business needs of their organization, or to develop their language skills for advancement in the public service.

SSC employees have access to these development programs and networks to help them during their careers:
Managers Network
SSC’s Managers Network is the best way for managers to communicate on issues that matter to them. This community of practice provides a forum for SSC managers to share ideas, best practices, resources and information. The network allows them to meet and connect in a supportive environment and contribute to a strong collective voice. It:

- promotes learning and development sessions
- communicates up-to-date information on policies and procedures
Executives Network
SSC’s Executives Network provides a forum for SSC executives to meet and connect. Executives can use this space to learn from senior executives inside and outside of the GC, allowing them to pursue initiatives that meet SSC’s objectives. It:

- communicates up-to-date information on policies and procedures
Administrative Professionals Network
The Administrative Professionals Network provides an SSC-wide forum for administrative professionals to build common processes, share skills, discuss concerns and celebrate successes. Administrative professionals can use this network to work toward their career goals and learn best practices in a positive atmosphere. It:

- promotes learning and development sessions
- communicates up-to-date information on policies and procedures
