Victim Statements
Victims can provide a victim statement to the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) or the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) to express how the offender’s crime has impacted their lives. These statements can include relevant information about the offender along with any safety concerns the victim may have.
Submit a statement to the Correctional Service of Canada
Victim statements are considered along with other factors when CSC makes decisions about temporary absences, travel permits or work releases, an offender’s programming needs, risk level and security level. Learn more about preparing and submitting a statement to CSC.
Submit a statement to the Parole Board of Canada
The PBC also considers victim statements in decisions they make about an offender’s conditional release. You do not need to be a registered victim to send in information to either CSC or the PBC for consideration. Learn more about preparing and submitting a statement to the PBC.
Submit a statement via the Victims Portal
To submit a victim statement to both CSC and/or PBC at once, submit online via the Victims Portal. You will need to be registered through the Victims Portal before doing so.
