Overview of 2022 to 2023 project results

  • The Skills for Success Program collects data from funding recipients to report publicly on results of the Program. Reporting is integral to demonstrating the impact of the SFS Program for Canadians
  • The Program compiled responses from 60 active projects in 2022 to 2023 which provided a total of 33,088 training opportunities for adult Canadians
  • These projects served a broad range of Canadians including from equity-deserving groups such as newcomers, racialized people, Indigenous Peoples and people with disabilities
  • The projects also developed a number of SFS products, including assessment tools, training resources, skills training models, and research reports or products

Upgrading environmental essential skills

This project is testing a new, flexible model to improve environmental professionals' essential skills. The proposed model will focus on jobs related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

This work will improve career progression of employed experts through targeted essential skills training. The project will also provide essential skills training in Indigenous communities with a focus on environmental field work, such as monitoring.

This project will support this plan.

This project is expanding the New Brunswick Virtual Learning Strategist program. The project will integrate the Learning Disabilities Online Risk Indicator into Workplace Learning Prince Edward Island's services by:

This project is building on the Digital Nova Scotia Skills for Hire program. It will expand the program to other provinces such as Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. The project offers training and supports to 1,500 participants to enhance their foundational and transferable skills. The goals are to:

  • enhance the workforce and labour market potential of each province, and
  • offer new technology sector employment opportunities to participants throughout the region

This project will also support the Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) and digital industry in general. The project will address labour market demands by supplying the sector with new, diverse talent.
