Canada’s critical infrastructure is facing a range of evolving challenges. A renewed approach will better support the safety, security, health, and economic well-being of Canadians.

Who was the focus of this consultation

The Government of Canada engaged with the broader critical infrastructure community, including critical infrastructure owners and operators and other involved stakeholders from the public and private sectors.

Key areas for discussion

Input was sought around three themes for a renewed approach to critical infrastructure resilience:

• Modernizing the understanding and definition of critical infrastructure
• Prioritizing the most critical infrastructure
• Supporting risk management for complex and changing threats

The input gathered through this process will be used to identify priority areas that will help shape a renewed National Strategy for Critical Infrastructure.
