Job Summary

  • Ensure that the reported information is in compliance with the Federal Court Warrant, CSIS Act, Ministerial Directives, operational written tasking, Service policies and CIP procedures by vetting operational written tasking and by conducting internal audits to review and evaluate the reports completed by Section's CAs and consulting with operational Desk Heads on the intelligence value of reported information.
  • Develop and maintain expertise related to Service policies and procedures and prepare clear and concise reports on quality and compliance-related issues. 
  • The Quality Control Officer acts as a resource person for operational and operational support personnel by understanding, interpreting and providing guidance in regard to the invocation of Federal Court warrants; including advice related to warrant conditions, terms or clauses and associated procedures concerning the assessment and retention of information, data and / or materials obtained under warrant.
  • Render assistance to Operational Desks in specialized report writing from communications by reinforcing report writing guidelines and facilitating the maintenance of uniformity of the product on all Desks.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of experience*
  • College diploma and four (4) years of experience*
  • High school diploma and eight (8) years of experience*

The degree must be obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.

NOTE: Any higher level of education (i.e.: Masters, Doctorate) could be recognized as experience. 

Experience

*Experience in research and analysis of information collected in order to extract relevant data from it through the application of critical thinking to draw conclusions and formulate recommendations.

Candidates must also possess:

  • Two (2) years of experience in writing administrative or technical documents requiring concision, such as reports, briefing notes or meeting summaries. 

Assets:

An asset qualification is a qualification which can enhance the ability to perform the work based on current and future business requirements, but which is not strictly required. Assets can help determine right fit in certain circumstances.

  • Experience in quality control and compliance.

Assessment Process:

Written Exam and Competency Based interview A written exam will be used as part of the overall assessment combined with the competency based interview.
