CRTC Broadband Fund second call: second round of selected projects
Backgrounder
Today, the CRTC approved funding for seven transport projects from the CRTC Broadband Fund. While a transport project does not connect individual households to broadband infrastructure, it does provide the network that will enable Internet access services to be provided. Approximately 1,400 km of fibre transport networks will be built in northern Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia targeting 15 rural and remote communities representing almost 6,500 households, including five that are both Indigenous and official-language minority communities (OLMCs).
