Alexandra Bridge: Independent Review Panel
On this page
About the panel
The Independent Review Panel (IRP) is a multi-disciplinary panel led by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada& (RAIC). The RAIC ensured that panel members have the expertise and diversity needed. It also ensured members remain fully independent from Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and the National Capital Commission (NCC).
As part of the planning and design phase of the project, the IRP:
- examined the design options developed by the technical advisor
- provided technical advice on critical aspects of the concepts
The integrated project team shared feedback from the following sources with the IRP:
- the Public Advisory Group
- engagement with stakeholders
- Indigenous communities
RAIC’s involvement in the Alexandra Bridge replacement project will continue in the form of expert advice, as needed, as we continue to advance the project.
The integrated project team will consider the feedback from the IRP, public consultations and all the above-mentioned sources. The integrated project team will provide an informed recommendation on a preferred concept design, which will then go to the NCC Board of Directors for review and approval
Documenting the Independent Review Panel’s contribution
A report will be produced to document the IRP’s input and advice, which significantly helped to shape the development of the concept designs for the replacement of the Alexandra Bridge.
