New Public Service Commission unsupervised test of written expression for level B or C (20-10)

We’re pleased to announce the release of the unsupervised test of written expression for level B or C. It was developed by the Public Service Commission (PSC) to help departments and agencies fill bilingual positions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This test is administered online, without supervision, allowing candidates to be assessed from home.

The test is available to departments and agencies for new job advertisements posted on GC Jobs. The test is accessed through the Public Service Resourcing System and can be used for all types of appointments (indeterminate, term, acting) for bilingual positions.

We’re also working towards the release of a similar unsupervised test for reading comprehension to complete the suite of tests for assessing second language remotely.

Please contact Consultation Services if you would like to better understand the current options for second language assessment.

At this time, the PSC won’t charge extended jurisdiction departments and agencies for the use of these tests, but we may re-evaluate this at a later date. For more information, please visit: Unsupervised test of written expression for level B or C.
