LHHR 15-03: Temporary unavailability of Public Service Commission Web sites, on-line systems and e-mail services

In partnership with the Public Service Commission (PSC), Shared Services Canada is moving the PSC Data Centre from its current location in Ottawa to the Enterprise Data Center Borden, Ontario.

As a result, there will be an extended downtime from 6:00 a.m. EST Friday, February 20 to 7:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, February 25, 2015. During this period, no PSC Web sites or on-line systems will be accessible and e-mail service will be interrupted. Below is a list of the systems and services affected.

For users of the various PSC on-line systems, we recommend you take the precaution of planning test dates, your staffing processes, closing dates of advertisements and inputting of data around this downtime period. For example, do not set the closing date of a job ad on a day when the system is not available. Also, you may wish to extend the time to apply to a job ad by a few days or update a file in the Priority Information Management System 24 hours before or after a downtime period. These steps will ensure all candidates have ample opportunity to apply to job opportunities and be assessed, and that no data is compromised or lost.

In support of this move, there will be downtimes each weekend through to March 7, 2015. These are similar to planned downtimes that you would experience in the context of regular maintenance. Details around these outages will be shared with organizations, using our regular communications channels.
