Ministers David McGuinty and Terry Duguid to attend a border security exercise at the Emerson port of entry in Manitoba

Members of the media are invited to join the Honourable David McGuinty, Minister of Public Safety, and the Honourable Terry Duguid, Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada, while they attend a border security exercise at the Emerson port of entry, in Manitoba. Ministers McGuinty and Duguid will be joined by the Premier of Manitoba, Wab Kinew, members of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and other federal and provincial partners.
Ministers McGuinty and Duguid, and Premier Kinew will be available to answer questions at the event.

- Media will be able to capture b-roll video and take photos of:
- a Designated Safe Examination Area (DSEA) demonstration, which allows the CBSA to more safely and effectively detect, identify and interdict fentanyl and other highly toxic substances at ports of entry.
- an RCMP Black Hawk helicopter that will be used to monitor the Canada-U.S. border.
- Public parking is available adjacent to the port on the left side of the highway.
