Minister Blair to make an announcement regarding disaster response capacity for large-scale emergencies

Members of the media are invited to join the Honourable Bill Blair, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Emergency Preparedness, as he makes an announcement about supporting non-governmental organizations in their response to large-scale emergency events.

He will be joined by Stéphane Lauzon, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Rural Economic Development; Janelle Coultes, President of the Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada (SARVAC); Conrad Sauvé, President and CEO of the Canadian Red Cross; Major Rick Zelinsky, Director of Public Affairs and Emergency Disaster Services, of The Salvation Army, Canada and Bermuda; and Martin Gangnier, CEO of St. John Ambulance Canada.

Following the announcement, Minister Blair, Parliamentary Secretary Lauzon, Ms. Coultes, Mr. Sauvé, Major Zelinsky, and Mr. Gangnier will take questions from the media.
