Ottawa, February 3, 2025 – Today, Canada’s National Security and Intelligence Advisor, Nathalie G. Drouin, issued the following statement:

“Today I spoke with Japan’s National Security Advisor, Mr. Masataka Okano, to discuss bilateral cooperation and the ongoing war in Ukraine. I also took the opportunity to congratulate him on his recent appointment to the position of Japan’s National Security Advisor. Mr. Okano brings immense experience in both security and diplomacy. I look forward to collaborating on the many important security and intelligence priorities facing both our countries.”
