Set departmental targets to reduce environmental impact of specific goods or services:
|
Baseline 2019-20: 100% Performance indicator: number of toner cartridges and paper purchased out of total number purchased in the fiscal year that were from reused/recycled materials Target: 100% of toner cartridges and paper purchased are from reused or recycled materials by 2020 |
No paper purchased in 2021-22; 0% (0 of 2)(a) of toner cartridges purchased in 2021-22 were made from reused or recycled materials. |
SDG 11 and 12 - The use of reused or recycled materials reduces the amount of waste from manufacturing plant as well as the amount of waste that ends up in land fill sites. |
Departments will adopt clean technology and undertake clean technology demonstration projects |
|
Baseline: 2019-20: 100% Performance indicator: number of pieces of e-waste disposed of in an environmentally sound and secure manner out of total number of pieces of e-waste disposed of in the fiscal year Target: 100% of e-waste is disposed of in an environmentally sound and secure manner by 2020 |
The PMPRB had zero e-waste in 2021-22. |
SDG 11 and 12 - Proper disposal of e-waste reduces the amount of waste that ends up in land fill sites. |
|
Support for green procurement will be strengthened, including guidance, tools and training for public service employees |
Ensure that decision makers have the necessary training and awareness to support green procurement |

100% of procurement and/or material management decision makers have completed the required Canada School of Public Service Procurement courses |
SDG 9 - Procurement agents who are trained to apply such criteria can award contracts to suppliers with a reduced GHG footprint. |
