Government of Canada to make an important announcement about the CCGS Alexander Henry National Historic Site

The Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services and Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay – Superior North, will participate in a Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate the historic significance of the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Alexander Henry.

The Alexander Henry vessel is part of a long history of government regulation and support for marine navigation and represents the increase of industrial shipping activities and commerce on the Great Lakes in the mid-20th century.

Minister Hajdu will make the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada.
