PacifiCan Visibility Guidelines: Quick Reference
Introduction
The Government of Canada is committed to providing transparent information to Canadians about expenditures for its programs and services. Pacific Economic Development Canada (PacifiCan) shares the commitment to inform British Columbians where its services are located and to ensure transparency about expenditures.
This guideline provides direction for the use of PacifiCan identity in accordance with the Policy on Communications and Federal Identity, and outlines expectations for use of PacifiCan graphic identifiers and proper PacifiCan acknowledgement in the projects and activities that the Department funds. These include:
- PacifiCan's grants and contributions program(s)
- PacifiCan's joint programs and investments with the Province of British Columbia, municipalities and other partners
- activities undertaken by partners in the Western Canada Business Service Network (WCBSN)
Ensuring federal visibility on promotional materials
When the use of PacifiCan's signature or Canada wordmark is required, please note the technical specifications of the Flag Symbol Signature specify PacifiCan’s two-line title must align horizontally with bottom and the top of the flag symbol. The PacifiCan signature should be placed to the left and the Canada wordmark to the right.
The following are general options for identifying and acknowledging Government of Canada contributions.

All web ads (banner ads, pop-up ads or other) should reference the support of PacifiCan with an acknowledgement line and the Canada wordmark if space permits.
"Pacific Economic Development Canada (PacifiCan)" text or the PacifiCan FIP signature is to be hyperlinked to PacifiCan's website at https://www.canada.ca/en/pacific-economic-development.html, and the Government of Canada wordmark is to be hyperlinked to the Canada site, https://www.canada.ca
Radio
For radio advertising, the tag line "Proudly supported by Pacific Economic Development Canada
" must be included at the conclusion of the spot.
Example: "The (xx project or fund) is funded by the Government of Canada through Pacific Economic Development Canada.

Conditions of use
- Only authorized versions are to be used and are not to be altered in any way.
- The PacifiCan or Canada wordmark signature may not form part of a headline, phrase or sentence.
- These symbols are trademark protected and may only be used with permission.
- All communications must accurately reference that the project or program is being funded or supported by Pacific Economic Development Canada (PacifiCan).
- All uses of PacifiCan and Government of Canada identifiers must be reviewed and approved by PacifiCan's Communications Branch prior to publication.
