Canada’s nuclear regulator invites media to attend Part 2 of the public hearing on New Brunswick Power’s licence renewal application for the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station

Ottawa, Ontario, May 3, 2022 – The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) invites the media to attend Part 2 of the public hearing for the licence renewal application from New Brunswick Power (NB Power) for the Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station.
Part 2 follows the first part of the hearing, which took place on January 26, 2022. This hearing will be held in person in Saint John, New Brunswick, and will also be available virtually via webcast. All documents related to Parts 1 and 2 of the public Commission hearing are posted online.
The agenda for Part 2 of this public hearing will include presentations from:
- NB Power regarding the application
- CNSC staff regarding recommendations
- Indigenous Nations and communities, members of the public, and stakeholders who will deliver information to the Commission through interventions
