TELUS Optik TV customers in Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec can now enjoy access to 1,100 acclaimed National Film Board of Canada (NFB) films, including Oscar-winning animated shorts, new and classic documentaries, great Canadian dramas, films for kids, and more.
“Bringing homegrown content to Canadians through the NFB film app on Optik TV demonstrates TELUS’ ongoing commitment to improving our customers’ entertainment experience while supporting Canadian content creators,” said Blair Miller, Vice-President, Content at TELUS. “The addition of the NFB app means Optik TV customers can enjoy award-winning, Canadian-produced films and documentaries on the best screen in their home without the hassle of fumbling for additional remotes or switching inputs.”
Optik TV customers will be able to enjoy hundreds of new and classic NFB films, including a selection of its Academy Award winners and titles of special interest to viewers in Alberta and B.C.:
• The animated short Wild Life, an Oscar-nominated look at early life on the Alberta prairie
• Finding Farley, an epic journey east from Calgary in the literary footsteps of Farley Mowat
• Carts of Darkness, a popular online title featuring the extreme sport of shopping cart racing down the steep hills of North Vancouver
• Stunning looks at national parks in B.C. and Yukon with A Day in Pacific Rim

To access the NFB film app on Optik TV, customers can tune to channel 452 or 738 or press the “Apps/Interactive” button on their remote and select NFB.
