Funding to improve facilities for Canadian Armed Forces personnel in Canada is possible through the new Federal Infrastructure Investments Program

SIMCOE, ONTARIO — The Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, and Member of Parliament for Haldimand – Norfolk, on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, today announced an investment of $280,000 for repairs and upgrades at the Sergeant Frederick Hobson VC Armoury, in Simcoe. This project, in support of the Canadian Armed Forces, will also support the local economy and boost job creation.
The $280,000 federal infrastructure project will take place over the next two years and includes the replacement of the roof and emergency lighting, the installation of sprinklers, and other upgrades. Work is scheduled to begin this year.
The Armoury is home to the 69th Battery of the 56th Field Artillery Regiment (RCA). The Regiment is an artillery unit of the Canadian Army Reserve with batteries in Brantford, St. Catherines and Simcoe.
