ST. THOMAS, ONTARIO – Joe Preston, Member of Parliament for Elgin-Middlesex-London, on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence, today announced a $1.2 million infrastructure project to improve the St. Thomas Armoury, in support of the Canadian Armed Forces. This project will also help boost job creation and support the local economy in the St. Thomas area.
The project will take place over the next two years and includes boiler replacement; pipe and radiator replacement; heating, ventilation and air conditioning replacement; plumbing upgrades; and emergency-lighting system replacement. Work is scheduled to begin this summer.
“Investments at the St. Thomas Armoury help ensure our men and women in uniform, including our Reservists, continue to support operations at home and abroad. Our Government is proud of the Canadian Armed Forces and we are committed to make sure they have the facilities they need to train and operate effectively.”
