July 30, 2015 – Hamilton, Ontario – Infrastructure Canada
Today, Diane Finley, Member of Parliament for Haldimand-Norfolk and Minister Responsible for Southwestern Ontario, along with Liz Sandals, Minister of Education and Member of Provincial Parliament for Guelph and municipal representatives, announced the opening of the new cargo facility at the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport.
The facility will support a variety of logistics services, from multiple truck docks, to dedicated merchandise and courier handling, as well as secured customs areas. It will also include temperature controlled systems for a wide variety of climate-sensitive goods such as flowers, fruits and vegetables, and pharmaceutical products.
As one of Canada's busiest airports for domestic air-cargo distribution, this new facility will support Hamilton International Airport's presence in the air cargo industry and provide enhanced service to local businesses, cargo carriers and freight shippers, while creating jobs and delivering significant economic benefits to the region.
