Funding to improve these facilities is possible through the new federal infrastructure investment program.

TORONTO – The Honourable Julian Fantino, Associate Minister of National Defence today announced a $19.5 million investment in defence infrastructure at six Toronto facilities. The work will be carried out over the next two years, and begin this summer.
The six facilities which will benefit from these infrastructure investments are:
- the Canadian Forces College will be upgraded and repaired at a cost of $4 million. The work includes the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system in the Curtis Hall;
- the co-located Denison Armoury and Military Family Resource Centre will be upgraded and repaired at a cost of $3.6 million. Work includes a heating and ventilation system and emergency generator for the Armoury and other repairs and upgrades for the centre;
- the naval reserve division HMCS York will benefit from new sanitation lines, along with other repairs including the jetty retaining wall, at a cost of $4 million; and,
- the Moss Park and Fort York armouries will see interior and exterior renovations and health and safety upgrades at a cost of $7.9 million.
These significant investments, announced by Minister Fantino, will improve the working environment for military personnel and their families, while also help support Toronto’s economy and help boost job creation.

Investments in defence infrastructure across Canada will ensure that students, reservists, regular force personnel, and their families benefit from a better learning environment and modern facilities.
It is another example of our Government’s commitment to upgrading Canadian Armed Forces facilities, including family resource centres. These significant investments throughout Toronto will also help fuel job creation and be a positive boost to our local economy.”
