January 17, 2015 – The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, made the following statement today regarding the serious injuries sustained by Constable David Wynn and Auxiliary Constable Derek Bond of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) while on duty in St. Albert, AB, overnight on Friday:
“My thoughts and prayers are with Constable Wynn and Auxiliary Constable Bond and their families during this difficult time.
This incident is a tragic reminder of the dangers faced by members of our law enforcement community who work selflessly each day to keep our country safe."
