I am delighted to be here in Bogotá for the inauguration of this impressive new LCI Bogotá campus.
The quality of Canadian education extends to that which we offer abroad through institutions such as LCI Bogotá College. For almost two decades, this institution has been providing high-end technical training in Colombia in creative industries such as design, applied arts and gastronomy.
LCI has been operating two campuses in Colombia—in Bogota and Barranquilla—for several years. This new and expanded campus in Bogotá promises to extend further the learning partnership that exists between our two countries.
Together, Canada and Colombia are helping Colombian students develop skills, access jobs and become more competitive in today’s world.
The LCI partnership also allows Canadian students enrolled in a LCI program in Canada to undertake studies in Colombia. The result is increased international exposure for students in both countries.
This is so important in a globalized world, and I would like to thank all those who have worked so hard to create this learning partnership between Canada and Colombia.
I wish you the very best in your important work.
Thank you.
