- In response to the flooding in Manitoba, the Government Operations Centre played a leadership role in coordinating the federal support to the province of Manitoba.
- Approximately 500 CAF members of the Immediate Response Unit led by 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery, deployed to support the province’s flood efforts.
- The Department of National Defence also provided aerial overview and ensured additional air assets were on standby.
- The Canadian Red Cross dispatched response teams to the area, delivering water and clean-up supplies, food and clothing to 800 displaced or affected persons, and supported the province in outreach, personal services and registration at the reception centre.
- Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada worked with the affected First Nations communities including those that were evacuated.
- Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada liaised with Manitoba Agriculture to identify and address potential crop loss and crop insurance issues.
- Environment Canada provided weather forecasting and water monitoring services on flood affected rivers and tributaries to the province.
- Industry Canada supported the province in ensuring telecommunications services resumed in affected areas with outages.
- Natural Resources Canada provided Radarsat-2 imagery.
