Project Made Possible Thanks to Federal Gas Tax Fund
July 9, 2014 – Allardville, New Brunswick – Infrastructure Canada
Residents in the Local Service District of Allardville gathered today to celebrate the completion of important upgrades to the community's wastewater treatment system, which will contribute to enhancing the quality of life in Allardville.
The existing wastewater treatment system, an old lagoon that is at capacity, was upgraded by converting the lagoon into a polishing pond and constructing a new, adjacent lagoon. The collection system was extended 800 metres on Route 134, south of the community, to accommodate 25 additional connections, and 970 metres on Route 160, west of the community, to accommodate 28 additional users.
"Our Government is proud to invest in projects like this wastewater treatment system that will enhance the lives of the people here in New Brunswick. Our Government's infrastructure investments through the federal Gas Tax Fund will continue to generate economic growth and job creation here in Allardville and across Canada for years to come."
