The following nine appointments and reappointments to the Parole Board of Canada (PBC) were announced today by the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

Appointments:
Simon Chapelle of Belleville, Ontario, is appointed as a full-time member in the Ontario region. He was first appointed as a part-time member in 2013. Mr. Chapelle was the President of the Chapelle Group Inc., specializing in policy analysis, business development, project management, mediation and consulting services.
Mary G. Crane of Kensington, Prince Edward Island, is appointed as a full-time member in the Atlantic region. She was first appointed as a part-time member in 2012. Ms. Crane was a communications instructor and a teacher at the College of the North Atlantic – Qatar.
Michael F. Crowley of Kingston, Ontario, is appointed as a part-time member in the Ontario region. He was first appointed in 1996 as a part-time member and was a full-time member since 1998. Mr. Crowley has previously occupied a number of positions with the Ontario Ministry of Correctional Services.
Catherine J. Dawson of Abbotsford, British Columbia, is appointed as a part-time member in the Pacific region. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Dawson was a faculty member at the University of the Fraser Valley where she remains a Research Associate in the Centre for Public Safety and Criminal Justice Research.
Michael Langelaar of Abbotsford, British Columbia, is appointed as a part-time member in the Pacific region. Mr. Langelaar has over 15 years experience working in international corrections. He recently was a Corrections Policy Officer at the United Nations, Department of Peacekeeping Operations, and worked at the Correctional Service of Canada as a training specialist.
Dr. Kim H. Polowek of Port Moody, British Columbia, is appointed as a part-time member in the Pacific region, British Columbia. Dr. Polowek is a faculty member in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of the Fraser Valley. Dr. Polowek was a member of the Board in the Pacific region from 1996 to 2005.
Reappointments:
Anne-Marie Asselin of La Malbaie, Quebec, is reappointed as a part-time member in the Quebec region. Ms. Asselin has 20 years experience with the Board. She was first appointed in 1987 until 1997 as a full-time member in the Quebec region. She was appointed in 1997 to 2003 as a part-time member, and in 2008, she was appointed again as a part-time member. She is a former teacher for the Commission scolaire régionale de Charlevoix.
Gordon Allan McRae of Mission, British Columbia, is reappointed as a part-time member in the Pacific region. He was first appointed in 2008 and reappointed in 2011. Mr. McRae served as a regular member of the RCMP for 25 years, with postings in Penticton, Maple Ridge, Coquitlam and Surrey.
Chris Trowbridge of Westport, Ontario, is reappointed as a part-time member in the Ontario region. He was first appointed in 2005 and reappointed in 2008 and 2011. Previous to his appointment, Mr. Trowbridge worked as a Senior Policy Analyst at the Parole Board of Canada.
