TORONTO — The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, issued the following statement on appointment of Lieutenant-Commander Albert Wong as a Chinese Canadian Legend by the Asian Business Network Association on October 27:
“It is with great pleasure that I extend my personal congratulations to Lieutenant-Commander Albert Wong and his family for this prestigious award which is presented annually to recognize and honour Chinese-Canadians who have made significant contributions to Canada and to the world through outstanding achievements in their field. As a recipient, Lieutenant-Commander Wong joins a very select and distinguished group of former recipients.
“Through his indomitable spirit, outstanding work ethic, integrity and perseverance, Lieutenant-Commander Wong has been able to not only succeed, but to excel in the face of challenging conditions. He provided significant motivational leadership to his clients, his friends, his co-workers and to the community at large.
