QUALICUMBEACH, B.C. – The Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, yesterday took part in the collection of eggs from adult female salmon at the Big Qualicum Hatchery. The Minister’s visit is part of a two day tour of the province.
“I am pleased to take part in the important work of the Big Qualicum Hatchery, said Minister Ashfield. Hatcheries like this play a key role in the Harper Government’s efforts to support economic prosperity, and to conserve, rebuild and manage Pacific salmon stocks and fisheries.”
