May 6, 2005 OTTAWA – At the request of the Right Honourable Paul Martin, Prime Minister of Canada, Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and His Excellency John Ralston Saul, will represent Canada during official ceremonies commemorating the May 9 Great Patriotic War Victory Day celebrations in Moscow, Russia, from May 8 to 10, 2005. The Governor General will attend the following events while in Moscow: Sunday, May 8 Arrival of the Governor General in Moscow from Apeldoorn, Netherlands, where she will have participated in a seven-day program commemorating the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Netherlands. Monday, May 9 10:00 a.m. Armed Forces and Veterans' Ceremonial Parade (Red Square) The Governor General will attend the parade alongside more than 60 world leaders.
