Governor General invited to Grade 8 Leaving Ceremony at D. Aubrey Moodie Intermediate School in Ottawa

June 18, 2004 OTTAWA – Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, will take part in the Leaving Ceremony of 174 Grade 8 students at D. Aubrey Moodie Intermediate School on June 22, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. Governor General Clarkson will deliver short remarks during the ceremony to be held in the school's gymnasium. As part of their journalism curriculum, some students from a Grade 7/8 class wrote a series of letters inviting the Governor General to attend their leaving ceremony. Her Excellency was pleased to accept the invitation and will meet with these students following the ceremony.
